North America's largest aerial tramway the Grouse Mountain Skyride would take us one mile up the mountain and to our delight Val had decided she wanted to go.
Here she is enjoying the ride high above the majestic douglas firs on the mountain below.

The view from the top of the mountain is spectacular although it was a little hazy this day.
Even with the haze it was still possible to see the mountains on Vancouver Island right along the horizon.
I tried to tell val that this was the way we would go back down but she wasn't buying it. *lol*

It just goes to show if you have a medium ( huge logs )and a way to shape that medium ( a chain saw )someone is bound to create something beautiful

Huge carved images adorn every pathway and there was still some snow left at this elevation.

Part of Grouse mountain is enclosed as a haven for orphaned bears. They are looked after while they hibernate and then released into the wild. Last year 2 grizzly cubs were in the enclosure and if you were really lucky you could watch them play together. ( From a safe distance, of course )
